Choose an information science career, job, or profession that interests you and then research and prepare a short paper about it. Final deliverable: Your final deliverable should be an 5-6 (max) page double spaced (use normal headers, footers and margins=1″, Font=Times or Ariel, Size=12) Word document in APA Style (plus title page and bibliography) which addresses the career you selected. Please do not use “.pages” docs since they do not open in Canvas. NOTE: Paper should be 5-6 pages long PLUS the Title Page and the Reference List or List of Works Cited (again no attached abstract needed). So overall the paper might end up being 7-9 pages long total. Remember that images, diagrams, charts etc., do not count as text. If you include them in your papers, which is totally appropriate when they serve a purpose in your explanations, your paper may need to be correspondingly longer.
You will also create a one page summary, abstract, or short PowerPoint discussing the highlights or main points of your paper that will be posted in the “Discussions” section of the course Canvas site for your classmates to view. The assignment is worth 100 points and 20% of your final grade. The main paper will be worth 90 points and the summary will be worth 10 points. Be creative and have some fun with this!
