Modern slavery can occur in every industry and has severe consequences for its victims. Modern slavery undercuts responsible business and can pose significant legal and reputational risks to entities.
Decision makers have a responsibility to respect human rights in business operations including (where applicable) supply chains, as outlined in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. This includes taking steps to assess and address modern slavery risks.
Addressing modern slavery also makes good business sense and those that actively oppose it can protect against possible business harm and improve the integrity and quality of their organisation.
With respect to your research, knowledge and understanding of the contemporary business issue of modern slavery:
Identify (recognise and name) the significant issue/s apparent.
Outline (indicate the main features of) the role of TWO (2) key stakeholders in the decision-making process.
Analyse (draw out and relate the implications of) the relationship between economic, legal and corporate responsibility principles that influence often complex business decisions.
