Step 1: Read the discussion questions below. Respond to the 2 prompts below and post each answer separately in its own thread. You must use an APA formatted citation for at least one of your two posts. You can use the textbook as your source.
How this will look:
You will be typing at least 6-8 sentences in response to two discussion board questions by using 1) information from the book 2) your own experience (personal or observations of others).Your initial posts should be at least 1/2 page in length (minimum 6 sentences per question). These initial responses should be written in complete sentences, well organized, grammatically correct and free of spelling errors. You must use an APA formatted citation for at least one of your two posts.
Lesson 8, (choose 2 of the 3 only):
A) Now’s your big chance. Rather than responding to an existing “Thinking Critically” question, you get to create your own. Read Chapters 9 and 12 and consider some of the major issues parents need to consider. Create a meaningful, in-depth question for your other group members to read and respond to.
B) If you or someone you know grew up with a parent with an addiction, you probably recognize at least one of the five adaptive roles of family members from chapter 12. If so, what role(s) did a child(ren) assume to cope with the substance abuse and how did it affect the family? Did they carry that role into adulthood or did they break out of it once they left home?
C) Parenting, as you have read from this chapter, can be difficult when life events happen that throw the family into a state of chaos. Fortunately, families have each other to cling to, and if they turn to each other, instead of away, they can grow stronger from it. For this 3rd, and final question, share your favorite parenting meme, an inspirational thought or quote about parenting. Copy and paste it (or upload the image) into the “reply” discussion box. Tell us why you like this message.
(SOME BACKGROUND INFO FOR THIS ORDER: I am a female and the oldest of 6 children in my family. I was very stubborn as a child and teen and fought with my dad a lot.)
