Select the statistical method that is appropriate for your data. This depends on your level of measurement for your independent and dependent variables and the questions on your survey.
For example, if your independent and dependent variables are both quantitative you will run a regression analysis; if both your independent and dependent variables are categorical you would run a chi-square; if you have two unrelated groups and you want to know if there is a difference you would run a 2 sample t-test (independent); if the groups are related or matched you would run a 2 sample t-test (dependent).
