This assignment aims at your understanding of the processes of reading and writing of secondary school

This assignment aims at your understanding of the processes of reading and writing of secondary school
students. It can be accomplished on an individual (single student) or group (group of students) basis.
In consultation with your clinical teacher, identify a student (or students) who have had difficulty with
reading and/or writing in their past school experiences. You will interview the student on an individual
basis (or group basis if a group of students). The primary issue will be the problems that the student(s)
perceive as impeding their ability to read and write at the level that is expected for the grade level.
The assignment will consist of four parts:
1. Preparing a list of questions that a teacher could ask to determine the perception of the
student(s) in terms of their past experiences with reading and writing.
2. Conducting the interview session with the student(s).
3. Writing a brief (500-750 word) professional report on the interview with the student(s).
Especially, the report should concentrate on the findings that emerged from the interview
session. (A more detailed explanation of the report will be provided in class.)
4. A brief reflection (350-500 words) on the experience of interviewing the student(s).
