TASK 1: Report
The submission format is in the form of a report. The report should be written in a concise style, and you are encouraged to make use of headings, paragraphs, and subsections as appropriate, in the report.
All work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. You will need to provide a bibliography using the Harvard referencing system. Inaccurate use of referencing may lead to issues of plagiarism if not applied correctly.
The recommended word limit is 1500 – 2000 words although you will not be penalised for going under or exceeding the total word limit.

You are working as a newly appointed Organisation Development consultant at the Uk’s Chambers of Commerce – Head office. The Chamber will be embarking on a training initiative to support newly appointed Managers and Leaders. You must produce a report
that will provide them with knowledge of the different approaches, theories, and styles of management & Leadership. It is important that the new mangers understand the positive and negative impacts of the different management and leadership approaches.
TASK 2: Organisation culture for improved organisational performance and development
This submission is in the form of a case study report. All work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. An organisation has been referred to the Chamber for assistance – see case in appendix.
Given your knowledge on leadership and management styles, and theories to support organisational effectiveness, you are required to examine the case and prepare a report which applies appropriate management and leadership approaches which you consider to be most effective to manage performance and continuous improvement in the case, and a comprehensive motivational strategy, that effectively addresses culture, and other variables of motivation, to enhance the organisation’s performance. The Chamber will use your recommendations as an exemplar for performance management and continuous improvement, to help other organisations.
Assignment activity and guidance
Task 2: Your report should include two sections:
Development of Organisational culture for performance
• Examine the factors that influence the development of culture. Use different organisations as examples.
• Develop the report further, by providing positive and negative examples from different organisations, to demonstrate the importance of organisational culture for the performance of organisations.
• Use the case study to select and apply appropriate management and leadership approaches which you consider to be most effective to manage performance and continuous improvement. Use different business situations in the case, to reinforce your selection.
Improved management performance and continuous improvement
• Produce a comprehensive motivational strategy that effectively addresses both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, alongside social, cultural, and other organisational factors, to enhance the organisation’s performance. The strategy should be clearly focused on the achievement of the organisation’s objectives in the case.
• Conclude the report by using all your research, to make recommendations for improved performance management that will ensure continuous improvement.
