“There is a portion of the intro paragraph that is clearly taken from an uncredited source, so there needs to be a citation inserted. The biggest area for improvement from here is going to be selecting a single communication topic on which to focus. This present draft is not really an essay, but a collection of loosely related ideas about the Navajo. There is no clear and comprehensive thesis. It needs a comprehensive thesis statement in the intro paragraph that fully forecasts a cohesive, logical, fact-driven argument from beginning to end. As you work on the next iteration, be on the lookout for awkward or extraneous verbiage to remove. One good way to do this is by asking someone to read the essay aloud to you. Fewer than five scholarly sources are referenced. All sources must be listed with full publication information, including journal title, volume, issue, page numbers, etc. In the case of books, that means city, publisher, pages and editors where applicable. If that data is not available, it is unlikely to be a scholarly source. Please make use of this guide to identify appropriate material: http://www.uky.edu/~lbarr2/gws250spring11_files/Page1440.htm
Please review the APA style guide before submitting the final draft: https://www.gcumedia.com/lms-resources/student-success-center/v3.1/#/tools/writing-center/11/753/2505 .”
The instructions for the essay are the following.
Write a 1,000-1,250-word paper that connects specific cultural communication pattern or practice to the history, values, and beliefs of the Navajo Nation Tribe.
Provide a connection of specific cultural communication pattern or practice to the history, beliefs, and values of Navajo Nation Tribe.
The focus of your paper is to present research on the history, beliefs, and values of the Navajo Nation Tribe and give exampls of communication patterns or practices that are influenced by these histories, beliefs, and/or values.
Your paper should integrate five reputable, scholarly and authoritative sources.
**For the essay please focus on just a single communication pattern or practice within the Navajo Tribe to write about.**
For the rough draft, this was not done correctly. As my professor wrote “The biggest area for improvement from here is going to be selecting a single communication topic on which to focus. This present draft is not really an essay, but a collection of loosely related ideas about the Navajo.”
I will upload the rubric for guidance. Please take a look at the rubric to better understand how the essay will be graded.
